Australian financial services and technology company Plenti faced a critical architectural bottleneck in its existing website infrastructure during the pivotal period of preparing for its initial public offering (IPO). At the time, Plenti relied on a traditional monolithic WordPress system. While WordPress enabled rapid website development in the early stages, its drawbacks became increasingly apparent as the company scaled toward a public listing: slow page load speeds, security concerns, and the tight coupling of frontend design with backend logic meant that even minor changes posed significant risks to the development team, severely limiting the agility of both the marketing and engineering departments.
